Permanent cosmetics procedures are performed using various techniques, either with a manual or machine technique. The process includes a consultation, the application of pigment, and at least one or more follow up visits for evaluating the healed design work and color of the pigment.

People who meet minimum age requirements ( 18 and above), and have the ability to heal properly from minor wounds can benefit from the liberating benefits of permanent cosmetics. Interest in this service spans the young to the more mature; those who desire a soft, natural enhancement to their appearance. It is especially valuable to people who can’t wear traditional cosmetics due to allergies and skin sensitivities; active people who want to look their best for sports activities such as swimming, hiking, biking, tennis, aerobics; and those who don’t want to worry about “sweating off” or reapplying cosmetics. Permanent Cosmetics also benefits the vision challenged who have difficulty applying their cosmetics; and others with dexterity related conditions such as arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke survivors, and busy people who don’t have time to spend applying and refreshing makeup throughout the day and evening.

Permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because pigment is tattooed into the upper reticular part of the dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, as with any tattoo or colorant (pigment) in general, fading can and often does occur, requiring periodic maintenance referred to as color re-enhancement or color refreshing. In general, the duration of any procedure is considered semi-permanent, and depends on the client’s skin, aftercare, lifestyle, and age.

The possibility that you would have any problems or reactions from these procedures is almost non-existent with today’s health standards. However, we do not do any procedures on people who:

-are undergoing chemotherapy

-are pregnant or nursing

-are taking blood thinners

-have an active reaction or infection in the area to be worked on.

Often the tattooed color is not perfect after the initial procedure heals. Permanent cosmetic procedures are a process and at least one follow-up to the initial procedure should be scheduled ( and that is why we include your touchup session with your payment) . This session is done 4-6 weeks after the original procedure, and changes can be made at this time.

It is very important that our clients follow an easy 7 day aftercare, where you will be required to keep your procedure clean and dry. So please make sure that you schedule your appointment when you know that you will have 7 days to take care of it. ( We provide an aftercare kit and detailed instructions during your appointment).

Permanent makeup is the micro-implantation of coloring pigments into the skin for aesthetic purposes to enhance, contour, and outline facial features. It is also a valuable procedure for camouflaging scars, burns, skin pigmentation variances caused by vitiligo, correcting some facial irregularities, or to further enhance facial rejuvenation and post-operative treatments.

Although permanent makeup has some of the same qualities as tattooing, it is very different. Only specialists trained in micro-pigmentation can perform this procedure on the face; tattoo artists should not. We use only the techniques, tools, and pigments specifically designed for micropigmentation procedures, making it safe, sterile, and painless. We also use effective topical anesthetics that are not allowed for use by tattoo artists. We use tools much more delicate in design that provide natural looking results.

Microblading:

• Semi permanent procedure lasting between 6 months – 1 year.

• Hair-like strokes are drawn on then traced over, inserting pigment with a handheld tool that looks like a X-Acto knife.

• Can be painful.

• Procedure takes approximately 2 hours to complete.

• Downtime – minimal

• Healing process takes between 25-30 days.

• Touch-up appointments are recommended after 45 days and can take approximately 45 minutes.

• Permanent procedure lasting between three and seven years.

• Hair-like strokes are drawn on using a fine artist paint brush and traced over with a digital hand-held electric device which inserts pigment 1-2 mm under the skins surface.

• Minimal discomfort with topical numbing cream.

• Procedure takes approximately 1 hour to complete with a 30 minute consultation.

• Downtime – none

• Healing process take between 3-5 days.

• Touch-up appointments are recommended 6 weeks after procedure and take 30 minutes.

Some swelling and redness can be expected for up to 24 hours following a procedure. Cold compress helps to reduce any swelling around the eye area. The treated area must be kept clean. No makeup should be applied for several days. Some skin peeling and lightening of the applied color is normal. If any additional adjustments are desired, these will be made during your follow-up appointment. Regular routines usually can be resumed immediately after the procedure. However, tanning or swimming should be avoided for a few days. Normal healing times is between four to seven days.

At Ana Square Microblading we conduct an extensive consultation regarding both the exact contouring and coloring desired. We will recommend the specific treatment and shades to best complement your own skin tones, hair color, wardrobe, and lifestyle.

Generally speaking, we recommend to wait at least one week before we apply any permanent eyebrows, eyeliner, or lip liner/color. It may be necessary to wait a few more weeks after laser resurfacing or chemical peel.

The permanent eyeliner is applied directly in between the eyelashes and doesn’t move or change when the eyelid is surgically lifted. Therefore, it doesn’t make any difference whether you have your eyes lifted before or after the permanent eyeliner is applied.

In Ana Square Microblading we use top of the line safe pigments, that are approved by the European Regulatory Agencies, whose guidelines are stricter than the ones established by the US FDA. Our pigments do NOT include heavy metals, inks, or any other harsh or unsafe materials for the human body. Our pigments do not have any contraindications, and will not irritate or damage your skin.

The level of discomfort varies from client to client, however, at our office we have years of experience with topical anesthetics that have proven to make procedures comfortable and are very effective in reducing discomfort. We always take our time to make sure that the numbing agents have enough time to work, and make the treatment comfortable. We recommend to wait a few days to let the eyebrows heal completely before Botox is injected. A brow lift should not significantly alter the shape of a permanent eyebrow.

Restylane or Juvederm can be used to further enhance the fullness of your lips and to diminish the appearance of lines around the mouth. The lip liner will not “run” or feather into the vertical lines around the lips.
